Filing insurance claims or buying insurance policies is never a fun thing, but helping customers save money and welcoming them with warm smiles and making their insurance experience as efficient as possible are details making State Farm agent Tressa Williams different from others.

Having served the community for over 20 years, Williams celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of her new branch location in Downtown Santa Clara.

“Insurance agencies are successful when they are closely tied into their community. This State Farm Insurance office will help our local businesses remain successful while providing homeowners, renters, car and truck guys like me, and residents looking for health insurance options, with cost-effective solutions,” said Mayor Jamie Matthews at the ribbon cutting on June 28.

Williams is an active supporter of the local community, being three-year sponsor of Santa Clara University’s back-to-school fair, a sponsor and donor to Buchser Middle School music department and an active member of Santa Clara Rotary.

“Tressa represents what Santa Clara is all about. For instance: Santa Clara is reliable, Tressa too, is reliable with more than 20 years of management experience within State Farm and she is now a proud owner of her own agency. As a City Council Goal, we promote economic development within the community. Three out of four of Tressa’s employees are Santa Clara residents. The City values our close relationships with our local schools. Tressa personally promotes educational development through a number of local internship programs, sponsorships and donations,” added Matthews.

Williams is a recipient of NAACP Freedom Fighters Award, NAIFA sales achievement award and multiple State Farm awards.

In addition to Matthews, attendees included members of the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce including Chamber of Commerce and Convention-Visitors Bureau CEO Steve Van Dorn, Santa Clara Rotary members, San Jose Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta service sorority, Chamber colleagues, State Farm executives, clients, family from as far as St. Louis and friends.
